David recommends that when helping your child study English, try to make it FUN! If your child enjoys learning English then he or she will become self-motivated rather than needing a parent or school pressure to study. If you find it hard to motivate your child to study at home you may easily find other options; allow them to watch their favorite DVD instead of studying, but only if it is dubbed in English or perhaps let them read their favorite children’s book in English. Studying does not need to be memorization alone. Allow your learner to incorporate English into what they enjoy doing outside of school, and it will become a part of their daily lives forever!

Try using the vocabulary learned in the classroom in real life situations that occur throughout the day. This will only improve your child’s English speaking ability.

In order to further improve your child’s English she/he can practice in real life situations. For instance, when you are with you child at a store let them count the money or practice saying the colors of items. Just keep practicing that is the most important part.

Hilary recommends that parents listen to the Disney English CD with their children whenever they can because it can greatly improve both parent and child’s English skills. It could be in the car ride to school in the mornings and afternoons or when you are at home, every little bit counts. Singing is one of the easiest ways to remember new words, and its fun! The songs are catchy and you’ll find yourself singing along too, even when you’re not listening to the CDs!

Practice with your children 10 to 20 minutes every day, this will help keep fresh the lessons learned in their previous Disney English classes. Also by keeping these sessions short they will pay more attention and retain the information reviewed much better.
